Daily harvest alternative1/2/2024 ![]() ![]() ![]() To make this milestone truly epic, we are giving away 10 pairs of tickets to the last US stop on Taylor Swift's Eras tour to those who show us how they are stepping into the FNV Era Kroger stores across the country.Apploye focuses on tracking, monitoring, and scheduling. There is so much to celebrate in this moment as we help more people step into their F+V Era. Now, launching Kroger, we have the opportunity to meet a new community where they shop - a huge step towards making quality fruits and veggies more accessible - so more people can feel great and live longer on a thriving planet. We also built a community of people passionate about our mission and the need we fill in their lives. We spent the last 7 years building a brand that challenged the status quo by making whole, sustainable, unprocessed food also convenient and delicious. That there was a real opportunity to solve a nutrition and sustainability problem by leveraging this temperature state - but only if we could get people to understand how we were different. I always knew that to realize our mission we would have to be available in other channels - but first - we had to prove that frozen could be so much more than dinosaur shaped nuggets. We started direct-to-consumer because it was the best way to break through the clutter. When Daily Harvest launched 7 years ago we set out to make it easier for people to eat more sustainable fruits and veggies every day. Who’s ready to step into the FNV Era? Daily Harvest is now live at 1100+ Kroger stores (including Harris Teeter, Dillon’s, Fry’s, Fred Meyers, QFC, Ralph’s and Smith’s) across the country and I couldn’t be more excited or proud of the team. I leave this experience more hopeful than ever for the future of agriculture, knowing farmers like you are at the helm. Thank you Dawn and Grant for your graciousness in hosting us, teaching us, and being open with us about your own journey, and the folks from Understanding Ag - Shane, Brian, and Rodney - for the intensive and empathic education you gifted to us. ![]() I encourage anyone trying to change agriculture - no matter from what vantage point - to attend one of these Academies, not only to deepen your understanding of regenerative agriculture but to deepen your empathy for the job of a farmer. And every day my job deepens my appreciation for the labor, love, and resilience our farmers put into growing the food that feeds us. I’ve said it many times before and I’ll say it again, I am not cut out to be a farmer. I got schooled in agronomy, soil testing, microbiology, mycology, and adaptive grazing practices, all powerful reminders of how little we understand and appreciate the living ecosystems we rely on.īut among all the learning, what was most profound was being in a room of farmers who shared ideas and challenges, and opened their minds to new ways of thinking and farming, most specifically, as the institute repeats, a reframing of farming from “what am I going to kill today” to “what life am I going to create today.” The complexity of the living systems below the ground is miraculous, and the ability of farmers to understand how their management systems interplay with it, and can promote it, is simply awesome. Yes, it was a professional development opportunity for me to deepen my understanding of soil science and biology, and how regenerative management works within these living systems rather than against them. They are creative and resilient as all hell. It was a powerful reminder of all that farmers are and must be: They are biologists. Last week, I had the humbling experience of attending a Soil Health Academy in Redwood Falls, MN at the beautiful farm of Dawn and Grant Breitkreutz. ![]()
